Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: Extremely fresh with hints of fresh lime, dried orange and sweet spices.

Palate: Delicious cinnamon sweet spice, dried orange peel with currants and raisins for complexity. It is juicy and warming in equal measure with enough sweetness to keep you coming back for more.

Finish: Creamy and smooth with the hint of sweet spices turn this into a great all-rounder.

American Eagle 12 Year Old Reviews

Absolutely gorgeous. I bought a bottle in the Autumn of 2020 and forgot about it. . . . opened and poured a large 'dram' this evening. Love it . . . . want another bottle when it's back in stock. . . . please.

It was a gift but it's not a bourbon I would buy again.

Interesting to hear what others think about this bourbon, personally I find it to over powering and to heavy.
Not sure if this is because I have been going back to Whisky more these days over bourbon.
I actually found it quite harsh, maybe I've just got cheap!

The best

I was gifted a bottle of the 12-year-old American Eagle by a friend - ordinarily it wouldn't have been on my radar. I don't like the name "American Eagle", but the bottle design is attractive. As for the taste, well, the bottle didn't last very long at all. Smooth caramel, toffee and honey with no harshness at all. I've been a bourbon drinker for a long time, and this is simply the best I've tried.

Just ordering a second bottle!

My husband loves Bourbon and generally spends around £50-£60 on a bottle. I got him a bottle of this for Father's Day, it's one he hasn't tried before and he's just said it's the smoothest Bourbon he's tried and can I order him another bottle. I think that says it all!

Absolutely delicious!

A delicious treat from American Eagle! Very impressed with the smooth notes and an excellent accompaniment to my favourite an Old Fashioned. Also tried on the rocks and it went down almost too easily! Fabulous looking bottle to top it all 5****** Highly recommended

Steady on, you're not going to make the take off!!!

Just an amateur bourbon guy here, adding to my Infinity Bourbon bottle, purchase.

To taste: Taken back like an espresso should be, short, fast & with a lot of air flow! This first sip opens up the floor to what is going to be, at least for me, a poor performance... Spice, currants & raisins are all present in the nose but I can only find orange zest in the taste nothing else really & only falls down from there with a short finish which lacks any impact of flavouring.

To nose: A fair hit of ethanol even from a swift sniff, set at the "golden ratio of ABV's, 43%". Right so off we go... straight in with out hesitant I go with crisp apple, like its been dried but not sweetened just dehydrated. After this I struggle to really find anything else, all but spice that I cannot work out.

Unfortunately for AE I fear they have gone the wrong when when it comes to pricing their bourbons, as only just the other day I had their 4 year old & it was nothing short of sublime & at a a much less than half price

1 - Shite
2 - Potential but needs something else
3 - well rounded, sometimes confusing & needs refining
4 - simply memorable, not overplayed & a great lasting taste
5 - Perfection

Excellent bourbon my favourite!

I’m not great at describing flavours etc. I’m just a normal bloke that likes bourbon, I like others like Woodford reserve, Eagle rare and Elijah Craig small batch. This in my opinion blows them all out the water. I’d describe it as smooth and delicious with vanilla and caramel flavours that’s about all I can taste anyway!

Smoky, vanilla with a slight spicy citrus note at the end.

My three kids bought me a bottle for Christmas. It's a lovely easy drinking bourbon and really smooth. Had a good splash in a tumbler with a couple of ice cubes and a nice cigar on Christmas Day evening, a perfect end to a perfect day.
