The US*1 Bourbon from Michter's in Louisville, Kentucky, is made in small batches, typically comprised of no more than two dozen barrels. Top quality stuff, brimming with caramel, vanilla and fruit notes, alongside a pleasing earthy quality at its core.
Rich layers of vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate buttons, and buttered corn, with sweet oak char in support.
Layers of buttery caramel, soft peach, and apricot, with a warming touch of nutmeg and pepper mellowed by creamy melted chocolate and oaken vanilla.
Fruity with lingering notes of stone fruits, a touch of apple, more chocolate, honeyed almonds, buttery oak, and balanced peppery heat.
Has to be one of the nicest bourbons I've tasted...totally recommend it ?
One of my sons bought it for my 60th birthday. Excellent choice.
It’s just stunning..,..I love it…..I’d love to get over to Kentucky from the UK and visit the Distillery……best regards, Dave Tickle.
This is one of the best bourbons I've tasted with nice deep vanilla/ spice flavours, but there's a bit of a burn to it, which compromises it's smoothness and which renders it in the 'slightly overpriced/ overrated' category. Maybe it's down to the strength (45.7 %), but it definitely needs to be taken with a few drops of water. Worth buying again? Yes, though I'd sooner buy Four Roses Single Barrel, Elijah Craig Small Batch, and possibly Knob Creek (and also save a few bob in the process.)
Has all the traits of bourbon that you expect but with the added bonus of a delicious taste. Sweet, sour and smooth.
