Excellent introduction to Islay

Stated age from my local retailer: 7 years average. Bought for around 20 euros in local equivalent.
Nose: smoke, peat, leather, light sherry notes.
Palette: very smooth, sherry spice, heavy peat, brine, classic Islay profile.
Finish: brine and iodine lingers.
Very well balanced malt at an excellent price. If you like Islay you can't go wrong with this one!

Unmistakable Islay

I love the taste of this whisky, which is unmistakable an Islay whisky. If you like peat, smoke and the salty taste of the sea, this is a perfect choice with a moderate price. I have laughed a lot reading the one star reviews here. There are a lot of people out there who do not know the taste of Islay before one of the whisky's from the island. Not liking it is not the same as bad quality.

Not recommend

Sorry but it's not that great and i have tried quite a few single malts. Thought I could smell and taste the sterilising agent used to clean the bottle.

Save your money

I actually poured the whole bottle down the drain. Maybe something was wrong with the bottle I purchased. I will not buy again. The smell and after taste was similar to mediciny mouthwash. I’ve enjoyed many other scotch whiskies in the past.

Glass went down with out much screwing of your face. Easy to drink

First time to taste this single malt.
Easy on the palette and heats the throat.
Taste not as harsh but not a sweet after taste quite dry ok.

Again the flavour is a typical whisky some sharp edges to the tongue but not big fan of whisky prefer bourbon and sweeter .

Perfect Whisky for a winter day

Initially the smoked taste was a put off, then second sip I was hooked. Really loved it.

Smells like tcp and tastes like someone's put a cigarette out in your drink. Rather strangely though I really like it.
