UPDATE: THE MYSTERY DROP BOXES HAVE NOW OLD SOLD OUT!

The first Master of Malt – Mystery Drop is here. Part competition, part adventure, part invitation to roll the dice and win the house.

You’re buying whisky. Proper whisky. The mystery is just how good it gets. Every single box contains a bottle worth more than you paid. Not “could be”. Not “up to”. Will.

Here’s how it works.

What’s actually inside

We’ve packed 1,434 boxes. Inside them:

  • Bottles of a minimum value of £69.95.
  • Proper premium single malts.
  • Rare Japanese whisky.
  • And one bottle that feels slightly irresponsible to include. The grand prize. Worth £36,995 exactly.

You can see the full list on our dedicated Mystery Drop page. You can check the numbers. There is nothing hidden. Terms and conditions apply and they’re right at the bottom of this blog for you to peruse at your leisure. The main things to note are that Mystery Drop is UK only (exl Nothern Ireland), and once the packaging seal is removed your bottle is confirmed and cannot be returned unless the item is defective.

Please note that, save as set out below, Mystery Boxes which have been opened cannot be returned to us. This is to prevent entrants from returning Mystery Boxes to us in circumstances where they did not receive the prize which they were hoping for, which would be unfair and undermine the whole purpose of the competition. That said, if the prize bottle inside an entrant’s Mystery Box is faulty or damaged, we will, of course, be happy to provide the entrant with a replacement bottle or a refund of the price paid for the Mystery Box (to be determined in MoM’s sole and absolute discretion). Entrants’ statutory rights are not affected. The name of the winner of the Bowmore 1969 50 YO – Vaults Series will be announced on MoM’s blog.

7. SHIPMENT OF MYSTERY BOXES: The Mystery Boxes will be shipped to each entrant after the entry period ends, on or around 6 May 2026. If any Mystery Box cannot be delivered to the address provided to us by an entrant, MoM reserves the right to cancel the entrant’s purchase of the Mystery Box and refund the entrant for the price paid for the Mystery Box.

8. UNBOXING COMPETITION Each entrant will also have the chance to win a 70cl bottle of whisky by sharing a video of themselves unboxing their Mystery Box on their Instagram or Facebook account (Unboxing Competition). In order to be eligible for the Unboxing Competition, entrants will need to post their unboxing video on their Instagram or Facebook account and include the hashtag #mysterydrop in their post by no later than 12:00:00 PM on 15 May 2026.  Any determination as to whether an unboxing video meets the eligibility requirements of the Unboxing Competition will be made by MoM in its sole discretion.

MoM will choose three winners for the Unboxing Competition out of all eligible entries at random. Each winner will win one of the following bottles (which will be allocated at random by MoM in its sole discretion): Bowmore 15 Year Old 70cl WhiskyJapanese Blended Whisky 21 Year Old (Master of Malt) 70cl; or Glen Garioch 27 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company). The selection of the winners made and the bottles awarded to them for the Unboxing Competition will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into. Each prize for the Unboxing Competition is inclusive of packaging and carriage to a valid UK address (excluding Northern Ireland).

The names of the winners of the Unboxing Competition will be announced on MoM’s blog as soon as practicable following selection. MoM will make reasonable efforts to contact the winners of the Unboxing Competition via email or by telephone as soon as practicable. If any winner of the Unboxing Competition cannot be contacted or has not claimed the prize within 5 days of MoM making reasonable attempts to contact them, MoM reserves the right to select an alternative qualifying entry and to offer the prize to another entrant. MoM cannot accept any responsibility if any winner of the Unboxing Competition is unable to claim the prize within the time limit set out above.
