Penderyn Port Finish #72 Bottling Note

Ooh, just look at this Portwood cask finish single malt whisky from Penderyn in Wales! With big, fruit-forward notes, chocolatey touches and rich Port sweetness running through its core, this'll be a top postprandial whisky we reckon. 231 bottles were drawn from a single cask for this release.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Redcurrant, raspberry and blood orange. Chewy cola bottle sweets and cacao.

Palate: Chocolatey with a touch of strawberry jam. Christmas spice, mince pies and brandy butter.

Finish: Yet more red berries with a core of digestive biscuits and creamy vanilla.

Penderyn Portwood Cask Finish (cask PT72) Reviews

Just Divine

It has one of the most beautiful colors of any whiskey. It is rich and oily on the palate. The flavor profile is dominated by port as one would expect, but finishes with strong notes of passionfruit and lychee. Despite being a higher ABV, the alcohol flavor is well masked by its flavor profile. I realize there is a very limited quantity, but it would be a better sell if the price point was closer to $200.
