Introducing Penderyn Legend Floral & Fruity, a Welsh whisky that does what it says on the tin. Produced using the distillery's unique copper stills, the whisky was matured in American oak bourbon casks and then finished in Madeira wine barriques.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Orchard fruit, coffee fudge, orange peel, dried herbs, and nutmeg.

Palate

Raisins, malty biscuits, stem ginger, custard, pears, and honey.

Finish

Madeira cake and baking spice.

An excellent single malt

I bought this in my local airport duty free, I hadn’t come across it before and thought the background information was interesting and impressive. It wasn’t too expensive and I was very pleased upon opening the bottle once I reached my destination and shared a glass or 2 with my daughter. We were both impressed, we like smooth and flavourful whisky and this ticked the boxes to an impressive extend. I would highly recommend and will look for more with the possibility of trying more of the quite extensive range .

A true legend, if too tall

I tried this at a cottage in Wales and regularly offered it to guests at my home. It’s been complimented on most occasions and I think it holds up well against similar tasting whiskies globally. My only complaint is that it’s a tall bottle and has to sit on a different shelf on its own.
