Knockando 12 1999
A delicate, sweet 12 year old single malt, unchallenging, yet rather charming. It was because of the Knockando distillery that Knockdhu began bottling their whiskies under the name anCnoc - for they deemed their names too similar and wanted to avoid confusion.
The nose is quite gentle and very fragrant. Notes of waxy manuka honey, hints of malty barley and roots with a touch of stemmy cut hay. There is a very supple, chewy peat lying quietly in the background. The palate is quite full with notes of heather roots and damp earth, notes of honeyed sweetness with Jamaica ginger cake, a touch of rum with malty peat. The finish is quite long with winter spice and crystallized stem ginger with cereal notes.
WallyM: Lovely Sweet Speyside Drop :-)
'Being Islay Whiskies lover, occasionally I will defect to some other distilleries and brands to be unfaithful to my Laphroig style babies... :-) I have to say I love this Knockando 12, lovely Golden colour, great aroma, Fruity, sweet, wild honey flavour, but there is also some Peat coming from behind. 'Love the after taste too, somehow there is a smoke here, nuts and still malty honey and citrusy taste.
I am going to buy one more bottle, 'hope my Laphroig bottles will forgive me.... :-))

This is a lovely whisky, sweet, but spicy on the finish. Hints of honey, fruit and smoke. A real treasure, and a steal at this price.

Sweet banana with some nutty accents. Very very nice! The 43% ABV makes the flavors tingle on your tongue. Would recommend this to anyone. 8+

It is very fragrant, but it is a hard hitter. I find it benefits from a from a drop of water.
As for the pronounciation, its 'Nock-an-doh'. Its where I live.
