A blend of pot and column still rums 'tropically aged' for a minimum of 12 years in American oak barrels. The reference to 'tropical' ageing is included to highlight the fact that due to the warm Bajan climate, the maturation process is taking place faster than it would here in Europe.
Nose: Dried fruits, dark molasses and nutmeg.
Palate: Smooth, rounded and rich with pleasing oakiness and whole vanilla pods.
Finish: Long with more fragrant vanilla and drying oak.
Overall: Well balanced and enjoyable aged rum.

Amazing mouth feel, complex, but great vanilla undertones

I’ve had better is my review! Sorry this isn’t as good as other Barbados Rums MountGay Black, Dorleys, Neptune Foursquare, Foursquare originals . Was disappointed to be honest. Overpriced. Foursquare produce better 12 yr olds themselves. I do know rum and this missed something.

Its deep bullish taste comes from the molasses it made from, giving it a strong treacle smell with a prune juice & roasted fig explosion in the mouth. As you swallow you get a black chocolate bitterness followed by an oak wood warmth, then a slight vanilla taste on the tail end. I'm my opinion this Rum is best served neat.

Another belter from the Foursquare Distillery. My wife and I did the tour in 2013 and tasted quite a few. This was a stand out - nice and smooth. You can watch cricket at their picturesque cricket ground as well.....
