Brothers in Barbados drink this like water from the morning, never Eclipse which is strictly for Rum Punch. Oh, the life

MGXO, fresh lime, mint or Vietnamese mint (peppery taste offsets some sweetness) with dry gingerale and ice..most importatant, serve in a fine glass tumbler! You'll be on holiday the moment it touches your lips!

This has a superior quality to other rums I have tasted. The fruity dry taste with a hint of oak is perfect. I have tasted many rums and have to say it will take something special to knock this off the top of my favorite list.

Flavours of banana and toffee, a very nice experience, but lacks something in this price range. I am yet to try the El Dorado 12 but have my eye on that. Although Mount Gay XO is an excellent rum I will not be buying a replacement bottle - it didn't quite captivate me enough.

This is one I can't do without for its price. On its own I find it to be the finest rum, but even then a little underwhelming in some attributes. Still, if I had to pick only one rum (how sad a concept) it would be MGXO. Now I have to come clean about what I do with it. First, the corks on some bottles are not snug so I save old corks for future bottles, just in case. Second, and some of you are gonna hate this, I pour half of a new bottle into an old de-labeled MG bottle and fill it with Pyrat, another (supposed) XO. As I said, MGXO is a little underwhelming. Pyrat is a little Overwhelming on the nose and palate, yet less burn than MG. Blended, however... Whole New Worlds come alive! I don't even touch it with (Mexico Bottled = Real Sugar) Coke. That's what my few remaining bottles of MG Black are for. No, this blend is amazingly drinkable on the rocks.

Coke made with refined cane sugar- refining removed the molasses. Mount Gay is made from fermented molasses. remixing the two creates a very complex, vanilla, light spiced rum and coke second to none. No hang-over. Or drinking it neat is the next step. I will never want another rum.

While raiding my buddy's teetotaling father's liquor cabinet some years back, we discovered an old unopened bottle of this shoved into the back behind the mostly empty Jacks and Absoluts and such. The label looked completely different than today's. "Extra Older," if you will. Not having had much rum besides stock Bacardi and Captain M here or there, this was a delicious surprise. Complex smooth mellow sugar banana deliciousness! It was a true find and is wonderful to sip, maybe with a stone or two. Haven't mixed it, but I'm sure it would make a good rum cocktail exceptional...YAY VERILY

I first had this in a mojito in a bar in Sydney and it blew me away - I had to go back and find the same bartender to discover what rum he used!! Even in a cocktail, it stood out massively!! Delicious

This got to be one of the very best spirits in the world today, not that i've tasted all of the best, or even close but this puts the bar sooo high. Watta Rum... And for the price a real bargain

As a rum drinker for many years, of Trinidad origin, I have tried many, discarded many, and would say that this is amongst my favourites along with Santa Theresa 1376, Diplomatico Reserva, Pampero Anniversario, English Harbour 7 yrs, ...to name a few. Smooth, great nose, not overly oaky. Good sipping rum, great with mixers (best with proper coca cola or ginger ale), a good export for Barbados, brings the sunshine out on a winters days...enjoy.

This is the real deal: smooth, consistent-like an old friend you know you can depend on. The flavor is complex with a smooth feel and a long finish. Every rum lover should have a bottle on hand.

This is presently my favorite Rum... Lovely sweet undertones of fruit with just a hint of banana. Great shaped & heavy bottle spoiled by cork stopper that is too small to seal properly.

Let's be honest, this rum doesn't need my praise. It doesn't need anything, except to be enjoyed by all avid rum fans. I actually laughed gaily when I tasted it. Oh the memories.

A nice, smooth, well-bodied rum. Smells great and tastes great too. I will definitely be buying a bottle.
