Mount Gay PX Sherry Cask Expression - The Master Blender Collection
The sixth release from the Master Blender Collection, this Mount Gay expression was created by the MB herself, Trudiann Branker, using some of the oldest rum stocks in the Barbados distillery's bonds. A blend of pot and column still rums, it was aged in American whiskey casks for 20 years before spending an additional year maturing in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It was bottled at 45% ABV without chill-filtration or additional colouring and just 4,200 bottles were released.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Stewed plums, salted caramel, toasted oak, and nutmeg.
Palate
Earthy vanilla, dark cherry, salted peanuts, banoffee pie, and cinnamon.
Finish
Long and dark and sweet.
