Exceptional as always, this generously aged Barbados rum pays tribute to Mount Gay's enduring legacy as the world's oldest running rum distillery. Single column distilled and aged for at least 15 years in American oak bourbon casks, this rum is defined by a generational handover between three master blenders: Jerry Edwards, Allen Smith, and Trudiann Branker.
Bursting with layers of vibrant fruit, butterscotch, and vanilla, with notes of orange zest and cocoa in tow, the team at Mount Gay recommend serving this neat or on the rocks. For pairings, try it with grilled or smoked meats, dark chocolate, and caramel desserts, or aged cheeses, Parmesan in particular, or a good blue.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Ripe banana, vanilla, toasted almond, caramel, and cinnamon on the nose. The palate delivers sweet butterscotch, smooth vanilla, caramel, fruitiness and bright orange zest, with notes of cocoa and a touch of sea salt.
