The Madeira Cask Expression is this year's release of the Mount Gay: The Master Blender Collection. Small batches of the column still distilled rum have been aged for six years in Madeira casks, imparting plenty of honeyed orchard fruit notes to the rum from Barbados. Only 2,706 bottles have been produced.
Notes of poached pear and vanilla fudge give way to light twists of citrus, floral honey, and oaky dryness.
