Westerham Brewery

The Westerham Brewery Company was established in 2004 by Robert Wick to provide craft beer for the local market and revive a tradition of brewing in Westerham, which dates back to the early 1600s and was notable for the popular Black Eagle Brewery, which ran from 1841 to 1965.

Westerham Brewery Company beers are produced with local water from the same aquifer that served Black Eagle Brewery, English winter malting barley, hops predominantly sourced from Kent (about 96% of all the hops it uses) and re-cultured the yeast also from the Black Eagle Brewery, more than half a century after the head brewer deposited freeze-dried samples of its yeasts with the National Collection of Yeast Cultures.

The brand is also notable for its ethical and green initiatives, which include encouraging the planting of new hop varieties in a new hop gardens at Scotney Castle, tithing 10% of the profits of Gods Wallop to a charity each Christmas, removing all plastic waste from our bottled beer products and replacing with recyclable items and more.
