Foursquare 2013 Velier Bottling Note

Another release from the Habitation Velier range, which is a series of rums with a focus around the distillation which goes into creating the spirit. This one comes from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados - it's a pot still rum (as you can see by the diagram on the label) that was aged for 2 years in ex-Cognac casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Almost malty as it opens, with thick, earthy vanilla notes prominent. Fresh sugarcane, walnut and green apple sharpness.

Palate: Caramelised sugar, shortbread, fiery cinnamon and a touch of horseradish. Slight coffee bean bitterness.

Finish: Fruitier on the finish - spiced pear tart and guava.
