The Macallan Fine Oak 30
Strictly 1 Per Customer
A rare, well aged whisky from Macallan. This 30 year old Speyside was matured in a mix of specially selected European and American oak casks.
The nose is quite firm with a good body. Notes of spicy marmalade, winter spice and a sherried sweetness. A little herbal note picks up. The palate is quite dry and full. Notes of rich winter spice and ground ginger and cinnamon. The oak is full and very chewy. The finish is of good length with an oaked backcloth.

A spectacular evening
This is my second favorite scotch...second only to Jack Daniels. I found it on sale at Costco. The beautiful texture is like silk in my mouth and the taste is pretty good too.

A truly remarkable story for a truly remarkable taste. My friends and I strode into a bar in Northern Maine in February. The hotel was only accessible by snowmobile at the time. After a nice rack of lamb I decided to finish with a whiskey. I took a look behind the tiny little bar a saw a dusty bottle of this treasure sitting in the back. Having had it once before, I knew the treat I was in for and figured..."why not?" I ordered a glass a was presented with about 2 1/2oz. Shocked, I grinned and thanked the bartender as she said "That'll be six dollars please". "I'm sorry, did you say six or sixty?" I replied in awe. She repeated six dollars and my jaw dropped. I will tell you without hesitation, this was the only time I will ever treat my friends to a glass of this and I assure you the bottle was empty when we left. The cinnamon and ginger spicyness whit the hint of orange was perfectly at home with the fire we were sitting around and the mountains of snow outside. I have not been back to the hotel, but I know that no experience will match that night. Just thought I'd share that.

I too had the honor of tasting this at a Macallan tasting for the first time. I have only had the opportunity of sharing this on Christmas Eve as well, going on my 4th year. I too have the honor of owning a bottle, however, it was a generous gift for my recent nuptials.

Had some of this at a Macallan tasting and share a glass with a friend as tradition every Christmas Eve every year for the last 3 years running. I have also the honor of owning a bottle of this finely crafted scotch.
