Spica 40yo 1980 Bottling Note

Another wonderful edition of Spica from North Star Spirits, this one is an impressive 40 Year Old! The third edition in the series, the blend was distilled in 1980 and aged for four whole decades. Eventually it was bottled at 44.8% ABV, with an outturn of 877 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Lots of sherry influence and heaps of forest fruits, plump raisin and new leather with a dusting of cocoa.

Palate: Oily orange and dry sherry, with jammy berries, toasted nuts, dried apricot and mint chocolate.

Finish: Waxy peels and more orange oil, peppery oak and tobacco.
