Yoichi Non Age

Sorry about this...

We can't actually ship Yoichi Non Age to the United States at the moment (although we're working hard to fix that).

In the meantime, our friends over at The Whisky Shop might be able to help you out.

Thank you for your support and understanding 🙂

Yoichi Non Age Bottling Note

A no age statement single malt produced by the Yoichi Distillery, the first distillery established by Nikka in 1934. Plenty of fruit notes with a good helping of peat at its core.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Citrus-flavoured boiled sweets, fresh baking aromas from brown bread and vanilla spice.

Palate: Sweet entry, fragrant, perfumed citrus. Peat comes through with a touch of smoke and a suggestion of coastal character, surrounded by orange peel and cherry.

Finish: Medium length, with a hint of salty breeze lasting, a hallmark of the distillery.

Yoichi Non Age Reviews

Good but Nikka have more in stock

I tried the 50 cl NAS. It's a nice dram.

Interesting, but delicate

I started by sipping the Yoichi neat. Its nose had a nice smoky peat to it with a touch of citrus sweets and what I would call pine. The smell stayed with me just long enough, but not so long as to be overwhelming. As I sipped it, it was thin with a touch of salt. However, the body hinted at more. I tossed an ice cube into it and the peat, disappointingly, disappeared entirely, but the fruit flavors with a touch of cherry and citrus and a nice round sweetness came out.

I would pay the price it was introduced at in a heartbeat, but as its price has increased for a smaller bottle I am hesitant to put a bottle into my liquor cabinet.

Final Note: I am doing the 2015 advent calendar. As a result, I get one drink at it to decide if I like it enough to buy more. Sometimes I need to drink something three or four times to make up my mind. Thus, my rating is based on a one-time drink experience.
