Distilled in 1974 and bottled in November 1997, just after the Ardbeg distillery was bought by Glenmorangie, the Ardbeg Provenance is a legendary bottling of 23 year old single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at natural cask strength.
This bottle comes with the original presentation box and certificate of authenticity.
Nose: Rich peat, smoky and intense. Baked apples, oak spice, cinnamon and medicinal notes.
Palate: Oily and smoky. Properly peaty. Cocoa powder, vanilla, light brown toast, caramel and a touch of citrus.
Finish: Ripe fruit, oak spices and a final hint of smoke works as a fantastic send off to an excellent whisky.
Overall: Simply put, Ardbeg Provenance is utterly ludicrous.
