Highland Wineries

Mead, one of the oldest alcoholic drinks in history, has seen quite the resurgence recently (find out more about that over on our blog)! Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead, produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, through the process of fermenting honey. A fun mead fact: traditionally, after a wedding the bride and groom were given enough mead to last then one month, which is where the term ‘honeymoon’ came from!
Smooth and warming with a certain dryness, prominent honey and caramel flavours without being overly sweet, along with light floral notes.

Simy the best there is. If you don't know how mead should taste (or even f you think you do) then this is the one for you. All others pale in comparrison.
A friend had procured a case or two for her wedding a few years ago. The mead was so smooth that I offered to buy one of the unopened bottles...she knew I hardly drank, so she gave me one. I’d love to find it here in the states.
This was very sweet compared to some other meads I had in the US and a bit too heavy for me. Maybe a standalone dessert drink chilled in small amounts but not as light as fermented meads I've had before.
Just fantastic; I've tried as many meads as I can get my hands on as a viking and role-play enthusiast and I keep coming back to this as being silky sweet but never sickly, fine and not too sticky, good percentage and a lovely scent. Buy it.
First time I have ever tried Mead and it is absolutely delicious. Very nice honey taste and very smooth. Will definitely order this one again.
