Highland Wineries

Mead, one of the oldest alcoholic drinks in history, has seen quite the resurgence recently (find out more about that over on our blog)! Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead, produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, through the process of fermenting honey. A fun mead fact: traditionally, after a wedding the bride and groom were given enough mead to last then one month, which is where the term ‘honeymoon’ came from!
Smooth and warming with a certain dryness, prominent honey and caramel flavours without being overly sweet, along with light floral notes.

An absolutely delicious Honey Mead. It is a shame I can only seem to get it in Canada around the winter holidays. I'm not a fan of many alcohols, but I can sip on this slowly all day.
First mead I’ve ever drank. Been after a bottle for a while now and after reading reviews chose this one. Really enjoyed the drink, sweet but not sickly. Would recommend to first time buyers of mead!
Oh I've had this a number of times, and even visited the winery before it sadly closed. All of their products are delicious.
Excellent! Just finished my first bottle ?Feeling warm and very relaxed. Thank you!
I brew roughly 10 different Meads each year. From Traditional to Cysers, to various melomels so I feel I have a good knowledge of Mead and I can honestly say if you are going to buy a big brand, professional Mead then this is the one to go for. A slight dry hit but a sweet aftertaste making this a very balanced Mead. Would recommend this Traditional Mead over any others
