Highland Wineries

Mead, one of the oldest alcoholic drinks in history, has seen quite the resurgence recently (find out more about that over on our blog)! Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead, produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, through the process of fermenting honey. A fun mead fact: traditionally, after a wedding the bride and groom were given enough mead to last then one month, which is where the term ‘honeymoon’ came from!
Smooth and warming with a certain dryness, prominent honey and caramel flavours without being overly sweet, along with light floral notes.

This is a lovely drink! So tasty! Ive had mead in Prague that was brewed especially for a medieval banquet, but this blows it out the water.
Over the many years of being in the re-enactment scene ive had many different variations of Mead. But I've always come back to this one. Its smooth, not too sweet and goes well after a long day.
Brought a few different meads on here, this one is the smoothest, and rich flavour one I've tried, brought 3 bottles, deadly stuff when ice cold, can't recommend enough.
Purchased this multiple times from here now and love the stuff. I have tried a wide range of meads and brewed it myself and nothing compares to Moniak Mead. It is incredibly morish and has a perfectly balance flavor. Highly recommend and I will be buying again. Has a great honey flavour and the perfect amount of sweetness in my opinion as I prefer a sweeter mead. Very easy to drink (you would not believe it was nearly 15%. Just a shame I cant get this from local supermarkets.
Bought as a present for my partner as something different. He loved it! He has said that every month when he gets paid he will be placing an order as a treat. Hes flund his new favourite drink
