The production of jenever near Deinze by the Filliers family dates back to the 19th century. This 'old' jenever has been aged for 5 years in American oak barrels but the 'old' refers to the older style production method, producing a far more flavourful spirit.
Nose: Sweet latte and nutmeg with a dusting of bitter cocoa. Allspice.
Palate: Plenty of wood spice, anise, a little treacle, orange blossom, tomato vine.
Finish: Sweet, dry toastiness.
Overall: Complex and spicy. A fantastic jenever.
