Peatreekers is named after a select few folks in 18th century Scotland who defied royal decree and produced their own illegal whisky. The name is somewhat literal, as the smell of peat literally clung to their clothes permanently. Inspired by these outlaws three centuries later, Calum Leslie founded the whisky brand in Edinburgh 2014. The aim of the Islay malt is to bring back a time where whisky was enjoyed by everyone rather than being seen as something exclusive.
