The Hooting Owl Distillery started life in the historic village of Barmby Moor at the foothills of the Yorkshire Wolds. Hooting Owl makes a huge range of spirits, from gin to vodka and rum, as well as brandy and ‘bourbon’ (a spirit made in the fashion of the quintessential American whiskey in the UK) inspired by flavours from around the Yorkshire region. In 2024, the distillery moved within the city walls of York to become the first licensed distillery within the city walls.
