Four Pillars is the brainchild of Cameron Mackenzie and Stuart Gregor, friends of twenty years who met in the wine industry, and marketer Matt Jones. Aiming to change the stereotype that Australians only drink wine or beer, Four Pillars craft distillery is based in the Yarra Valley, Australia’s wine country. Its multiple award-winning gins have, unsurprisingly, been a hugely popular. The brand was launched in 2013 after an extremely successful round of crowdfunding, though it also took three years before that to first get the company set up. Everything the Four Pillars distillers make is based around their four pillars - the still (called Wilma), the water, the botanicals and last but not least, love for the profession. The four bumps across the top of every bottle represent these four pillars, just in case you ever wondered.
