It's Monsonia 2016 from South Africa's Vondeling! Monsonia is named after a very rare species of Western Cape vegetation found in the winery's home in the Paardeberg mountain. Enjoy a core of Shiraz with a good helping of Mourvédre, and smidges of Carignan and Grenache. The wine spent 16 months in large French oak barrels before bottling, around a third of which were new. It's earthy and fruity, making a delicious match with rich grilled meats.
Dried red flowers, ripe red berries and earthy wood, with rich chocolate undertones, fresh kitchen herbs and gentle spice.
