Gimbletts Gravels in New Zealand gets its name from its stony soil which is not dissimilar to earth in the Medoc in Bordeaux. It's particularly famous for its syrah made in a peppery, fragrant Northern Rhone-style, but there's other grapes including tempranillo. Trinity Hill has crafted a fragrant, fruit-driven and spicy take on Rioja's main variety which would be excellent with roast shoulder of lamb.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Bright strawberry and raspberry fruit with herbs, liquorice and just a little vanilla on the finish.
