Greco di Tufo, Vermentino, Fiano... Didn't they all used to play for Juventus? Italian white grape varieties can be confusing, but not so with this cracking Chardonnay from Sicilian producers Planeta, who have long produced this world class expression from their vineyards in the west of the island.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Initially quite rich on the nose, with notes of butter, marzipan and ripe stone fruits, leading to a tropical palate of fresh pineapple and mango. Some lovely vanilla biscuit character on the finish. A great match for white meat and fish dishes, especially in creamy sauces.
