Morandé Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Top notch sauvignon blanc here from Chile. It's made from grapes grown on a single property in the country's cool Casablanca valley. They're all hand-picked and then fermented in a mixture of 2,000 litre oak casks, which impart no wood flavour but allow oxygen in, and a concrete egg. The wines is then aged on its lees, dead yeast cells, which imparts a creamy texture. The result is a wine that's a lot more elegant and textured than most New World sauvignons. In fact, this would appeal very much to lovers of white Burgundy and upmarket chardonnay in general. Serve this with a nice piece of fish and you won't be disappointed.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
White peaches, lemons and just a little grassy green pepper. The texture is full with creamy almond notes and a touch of honey.
