Gramona la Cuvee Gran Reserva 2012
Before there was Prosecco, there was Cava. Possibly not in a temporal sense, but certainly as an alternative to Champagne in the UK. Now not nearly as popular as its Italian counterpart, Cava is definitely an area to explore, with wines made in the same way as in Champagne, and with a similar level of ageing before release. Gramona are undoubtedly one of the region's superstars, making wines of incredible complexity and balance.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
White flowers and freshly cut grass on the nose, overlaying some fresh lemon and grapefruit notes. A full bodied, fresh palate with great texture and delicate orange blossom and honey flavours. A superb aperitif or partner to fish and shellfish.
