Ribera del Duero is a high altitude region in central Spain that produces some of the country's most prestigious reds. The main grape is called tinta del pais (aka tempranillo), the same as Rioja but the wines tend to be fuller. This is made from 90% tinta del pais and 10% cabernet sauvignon and was aged in French oak. Try it with lamb chops.
Blackcurrants, blackberries and plums, full fruited, with vanilla, cloves and leather.
