Currently run by Véronique and Caroline Maret, Domaine de la Charbonnière has been in the hands of the Maret family since 1912. This rich red wine was made from 70% grenache, 15% syrah and 15% mourvèdre. It's a bold wine indeed, and needs something to match, think rich meat dishes, oxtail, and well-matured cheeses.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Jammy berries and earthy spices on the nose lead to liquorice, leather, and unctuous red fruits.
