High quality Aussie cab alert! This comes from grapes the Fleurieu peninsula near Adelaide in south Australia. They were pressed using a basket press - an old-fashioned technique that is very gentle so you don't get any harsh flavours from the skins, pips or stalks. It then spent 18 months in used French oak barriques to soften without adding much wood flavour before bottling without filtration. This would be splendid with roast lamb.
Big blackcurrant and blackberry notes with tobacco, old leather and lots and lots of spices. Full-bodied and smooth.
