Gewurztraminer, a grape commonly associated with Alsace, is actually from Italy. Right at the north of the country from the town of Tramin where they speak German rather than Italian. Gewurztraminer means 'spicy traminer'. Anyway, this is a lovely wine that would be particularly nice with smelly cheeses and Thai food.
Rose petals and tropical fruit with honey, a distinct smokiness and an off-dry finish.
