Chile produces some cracking merlots and this example from Caliterra is no exception. It's made from grapes grown in the Colchagua Valley which are fermented in stainless steel before ageing in used oak barrels.
Menthol nose, blackcurrant, really ripe with some spice. Fresh and floral on the palate with ripe tannins and a touch of vanilla.
