Northern Italian wine producers, Allegrini, makes some of the best Amarone della Valpolicella in the region. This famous wine is made from dried grapes, usally corvina, oseleta, and rondinella, which are then fermented to produce a hugely rich dry wine. Corte Giara is a more accessible take on this style so it's more fun to drink young than other wines in the region. It's particularly good drunk with aged hard cheeses like pecorino or manchego.
Dark chocolate, bittersweet black cherries, raspberries, baking spices, walnuts and leather. Rich flavours like you might find in a sweet wines but without the sugar.
