Albino Rocca Barbaresco Ronchi 2016
The Rocca family has been growing grapes in Piedmont for generations, but only began bottling wine under its own name in 1971. In Barbaresco, the winery showcases Nebbiolo grapes, and this 2016 vintage has been aged in large 20-hectolitre neutral oak barrels, helping to accentuate the grape's character rather than imparting lots of woody notes. A fabulous vintage that should be good to drink now with suitably hearty food.

Lovely ripe strawberries and rose petal on the nose with some earthy forest floor notes. Fragrant palate, firm tannins with delightfully pure fruit.
