Tokinoka Black is a Japanese whisky that was created by Akito Ueda, master blender at the White Oak distillery. It was made with a blend of malt whisky (50%) and grain whisky (50%) before being in matured three different types of casks - ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and new oak barrels. This edition is bottled at 50% ABV, while the standard expression is bottled at 40% ABV.
Citrus fruits, dried apricots and floral honey.
Creamy vanilla, exotic fruit and toasted oak lead, with prickles of sweet spice.
An elegant, medium length finish.
Light spice and dried apricot on the nose. Sweet and creamy vanilla on the palate. Long finish. A little linear with more heat than I'd like.
