Behold, Douglas Laing's The Epicurean blended malt has enjoyed a little slumber in Cognac casks for this limited edition release! The whisky itself was crafted exclusively with single malts from Lowland distilleries, which was filled into a pair of Cognac casks for a finishing period before being bottled at 48% ABV. The fragrant, fruit-forward whisky seems to be a perfect match for Cognac casks, because this one is impressive indeed.
Apricot, quince and cooked berries, supported by a touch of toasted brioche.
Fresh oranges, pear drops, honey, red grapes, a whiff of cut grass sneaking through.
Buttery on the finish, though clementine and lemon zestiness lasts.
