Smoke! Lapsang souchong. Cool wood smoke. Thick and full.
Big, puckering peat. Smoky, fruity sweetness, touch of sherry, sultana. Herbal.
Herbal, tangy fruits and more peat smoke!
Scotch should not have an iodine flavour to it.
The smell, to me, is overly sweet and reminds me of a particular toffee which I had as a boy and immediately spat out back into my mothers hand. Not for me, so back to the Ardbeg and Laphroaig 10's.
Packs a punch! Peaty but not overpowering. Would go with this over more popular islay whiskys

Debating as to where this whisky comes from is a bit of a pointless task, seeing as they, until recently, had not sealed a deal with any single distillery - the liquid in the bottle depended on the batch - they were all VERY young Islays but from different distilleries. Apparently, they have very recently secured a deal with an unnamed Islay distillery to produce all forthcoming batches. This is according to a rep, whose information I trust.
