Slyrs 3 Year Old 2013 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
An intriguing release from our Single Cask Series - this is a 3 year old Bavarian single malt whisky from the Slyrs Distillery in the south of Germany. It was matured in a single heavily toasted virgin American oak barrel from January 2013 to April 2016, when it was bottled at 54.9% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Thick waves of caramel and vanilla. A vegetal hint of tomato stem appears, but soon fades into sweet Alpine herbs notes.
Palate
Crumbly shortbread notes arrive first, followed by mint chocolate, waxy apples and runny honey. Water brings out a touch of rhubarb and custard sweeties.
Finish
A light prickle of red chilli sits behind handfuls of chewy toffee notes.
