Slyrs 3 Year Old 2013 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Slyrs 3 Year Old Bottling Note

An intriguing release from our Single Cask Series - this is a 3 year old Bavarian single malt whisky from the Slyrs Distillery in the south of Germany. It was matured in a single heavily toasted virgin American oak barrel from January 2013 to April 2016, when it was bottled at 54.9% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Thick waves of caramel and vanilla. A vegetal hint of tomato stem appears, but soon fades into sweet Alpine herbs notes.

Palate: Crumbly shortbread notes arrive first, followed by mint chocolate, waxy apples and runny honey. Water brings out a touch of rhubarb and custard sweeties.

Finish: A light prickle of red chilli sits behind handfuls of chewy toffee notes.
