An exciting release from the Jefferson's range, this bourbon is initially matured on land for the lion's share of its maturation, before embarking on a sea-faring voyage, crossing the equator 4 times. Does this maturation impart any coastal flavours to the whiskey? We're sure Jake would like to know after reading his blog post on the Relationship Between Whisky and the Seas...

Not the worst I’ve tasted but not the best either.

I bought a sample hoping I would hate it, due to the price of a bottle. I massively prefer bourbon to scotch and was thinking by all the reviews with the aged at sea and salty taste would give off more of a scotch vibeHowever annoyingly I was wrong, it tastes great and it taste quality, it definitely has more of a predominant bourbon flavour and Nose like fruits, vanilla, caramel, oak, the salt is there right in the background and it adds complexity, so don’t worry bourbon lovers it’s good good stuff in my opinion

Solid wood, strong sugar cane with caramel, corn, syrupy, salty vanilla.

My daughter and I tried this wonderful bourbon in Louisville , Kentucky last week , it was so smooth and the taste just got better and better as we drank it , we tried it at a bar at the Hyatt regency 25.00 a shot , well worth it . Didn’t buy the bottle, 180.00 . Would like to get a,bottle maybe I will treat myself with one for Christmas . Great!

I really like this and was lucky to pick it up from Total Wines in the US for $70 and not the frankly ludicrous price of £90. Slight brine to it but so smooth and a great big heap of caramel. Lovely stuff.

Ocean provides the slight sweetness of Jefferson with a little more kick and a hint of saltiness. Tastes similar to Irish Whiskey, but for the price you'd be better off getting Bulleit, Bulleit 10 year, or Garrison Brothers.
