A 500ml bottling of Suntory's excellent Hibiki 12 Year Old blended Japanese whisky, including malts from Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries. Sadly, this expression was discontinued by Suntory back in 2015 following the incredible surge in Japanese whisky's popularity. Since then, bottles of this 12-year-old blend have become rather rare and sought after.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Juicy marmalade with real chunks of orange, cooked apples dusted with cinnamon, thick honey and plum wine.
Crushed almonds, stewed fruits, clove-studded oranges. Sherried malt and a subtle core of oak.
Bright and flavoursome with crisp apple and citrus.
$133.93 - $983.31
Have had a bottle of this since around 2015, and have slowly sipped away at it ever since. To good to drink the whole bottle, but to good not to drink it!!!! Am currently drinking a double, and have 1 double left in the bottle. Excellent stuff....... all good things must come to an end sadly!!!!!
My initial impression took me back to Asia - fresh fruits like pineapple that have been ripening in the tropical sun! Definitely a different experience to what I have had before. Very well-balanced and there is a 'plummyness' that really comes through. Most enjoyable - however, it must be said my bottle was a gift - would I pay £40 for it? No - which is a shame!
One of the best blends on the planet, far better than any of JW's I have tried(inc the Blue). The down side it's a bit pricey, but have to pay for quality.
excellent
Bought a bottle in japan, at a duty free shop. Very smooth stuff.
