Limeburners M97 Bottling Note

Limeburners single malt whisky, presented at a rather sturdy 61% ABV. This Australian expression was matured in an American oak cask which had previously matured Sherry, so prepare yourself for an array of dark fruit and sweetly spiced flavours. Cask M97, said ex-Sherry cask, had an outturn of just 270 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Waxy peels, intense cinnamon and strawberries. A touch of old fashioned cola cubes and cough sweets. Rhubarb crumble notes develop with a drop of water.

Palate: Powerfully spicy - plenty of pepper and nutmeg to be had here. Apple chutney, mince pie filling and oily barley.

Finish: Long and spicy, with a sweeter hint of rose developing late on the finish.

Limeburners Single Malt Whisky (cask M97) Reviews

Motor City Whiskey Girl

Strong and intense nose. First taste is very spicy with some sweetness. Sherry is notable as well. Not for the faint of heart. Definitely a whiskey lovers whiskey. Flavor mellows into a sweet floral. And deeper into the dram, the lingering taste is almost floral. The more it rests on the palate, the more I seem to like it. I have rated it at 6; it would be an 8 if the actual drinking of it wasn't so assertive.
