Fettercairn 40 Year Old

In mid-2018, the Fettercairn distillery relaunched its core range of single malt Scotch whisky, which included this fantastic 40 year old expression (as well as a 12 year old, a 28 year old and a 50 year old). When tasting it at the launch event (read more about that over on the blog), our Kristy particularly enjoyed "...the rich nutmeg spice, orange oil, bitter dark chocolate and leathery notes on the nose and palate."

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose Honey, molasses, and ginger at first, overtaken by toffee apple, thick treacle, and sherry.

Palate Liquorice and balsamic, balanced with citrus and raisin. Hints of toffee, honey, and Demerara sugar.

Finish A glorious finish of soft spice and tropical fruits.
