Fettercairn 40 Year Old
In mid-2018, the Fettercairn distillery relaunched its core range of single malt Scotch whisky, which included this fantastic 40 year old expression (as well as a 12 year old, a 28 year old and a 50 year old). When tasting it at the launch event (read more about that over on the blog), our Kristy particularly enjoyed "...the rich nutmeg spice, orange oil, bitter dark chocolate and leathery notes on the nose and palate."
Please Note: This bottle has been signed by Stewart Walker on the back of the Box, back of the bottle and is inscribed "congratulations" on the front label with his signature below.
This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Honey, molasses, and ginger at first, overtaken by toffee apple, thick treacle, and sherry.
Palate
Liquorice and balsamic, balanced with citrus and raisin. Hints of toffee, honey, and Demerara sugar.
Finish
A glorious finish of soft spice and tropical fruits.
