This was distilled at the Dufftown distillery in November 1982 before a 30 year maturation in a single cask (a refill hogshead). It was bottled for the Old Malt Cask range in November 2012 and there are just 174 bottles available.
Nose: Spicy, aniseed-led nose with hints of dried flowers, potpourri and malt.
Palate: Malty, rich palate with dried herbs and liquorice root. A hint of toasted oak and spice.
Finish: Hints of smoke and spice. Cooked fruit and malt.
Overall: This is an aniseed-rich, spicy whisky from the Dufftown distillery.
