A delicious "Double Barrel" release from Douglas Laing, that blends a pair of single cask malts (in this case a peppery Talisker with a malty Craigellachie) together for a really wonderful blended malt whisky. Very interesting to see two very different malts from very different regions married together so successfully.
Fresh and fragrant nose with notes of marmalade, digestive biscuits, caramelised sugar and gingerbread.
A slightly smoked, sweet palate with stem ginger, nutmeg and malt. Hints of salty butter and caramel develop.
Long and rich with cedar and oak, hints of pipe tobacco on the tail.
