A delicious "Double Barrel" release from Douglas Laing, that blends a pair of single cask malts (in this case a peppery Talisker with a malty Craigellachie) together for a really wonderful blended malt whisky. Very interesting to see two very different malts from very different regions married together so successfully.
Nose: Fresh and fragrant nose with notes of marmalade, digestive biscuits, caramelised sugar and gingerbread.
Palate: A slightly smoked, sweet palate with stem ginger, nutmeg and malt. Hints of salty butter and caramel develop.
Finish: Long and rich with cedar and oak, hints of pipe tobacco on the tail.
