Williamson 6yo 2010 Bottling Note

An interesting release from the Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited range - a single cask bottling of 6 year old Williamson blended malt (which some of you may know is a teaspooned whisky - almost completely single malt from one distillery, with a minuscule drop of single malt from another distillery). This was drawn from a refill Sherry butt, producing 950 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Burnt ends, Sherried peels and a touch of toasted almond.

Palate: Spice and smoke in equal measures. Underlying gristy hints.

Finish: Smoked paprika, parsley and buttery sultana.

Williamson 6 Year Old 2010 - Strictly Limited (Càrn Mòr) Reviews

Good quality, crisp and light flavour with plenty of complexity.

I've really enjoyed this one. Light and crisp with a pleasant nose. Plenty of flavour and a good balance.

It is great either as a solo drink or with some dry Spanish Cheese & Jamon Iberico.

It is a touch over priced; £30-35 would be about right, so I can't give it the full stars.

Definitely one to grab for the cabinet. I really like it.
